We're breaking down
the barriers to making pottery at home

What makes ours different to other clay kits?

The trickiest part of pottery isn't so much the making bit, but finding a kiln to fire your pieces.

We include firing as part of the service.*

Why is firing important?

Sadly, your oven won't quite do the trick. For your pieces to become waterproof, dishwasher safe and food safe, they need to be fired twice in a kiln. Once after they've been made and dried, then again after you've applied the glaze (the glaze needs to reach a whopping 1200 degree heat to form). This is what makes your piece food safe.

After your pieces have been drying for at least 7 days, get in touch by emailing arloceramics.nz@gmail.com, and we'll send you instructions for dropping off to our kiln!

Getting your pieces to us is at your own cost.

Give pottery a go, the easy way

*Our kiln is based on the North Shore, Auckland. Getting your pieces to us is at your own cost. Email us at arloceramics.nz@gmail.com with questions or to book your firing.
